Corporate Priorities

Revised on December 17, 2012

The owners and management of JR Global Manufacturing are committed to the following company priorities:

1 - Safety First

Safety is paramount. All activities we engage in, and all decisions we make are secondary to the safety of our employees, guests and customers. Employees are permitted to refuse orders if they feel that the safety of any person is being compromised.

2 - Take care of our equipment

Our capital equipment is obviously essential to the operation of our company. We cannot afford to let our equipment prematurely wear out because of abuse, neglect, or misapplication. We carefully evaluate cutting conditions to insure that we are not putting unnecessary stress on the equipment.

We have a comprehensive preventative maintenance program to insure that small problems do not turn into large ones. Our operators are trained to take notice of unusual sounds, vibrations, or leaks and report them to management immediately.

3 - Make a quality product

Our customers demand and expect that the products and services they purchase from us arrive at their dock, ready for use. Incoming inspection by a customer is a non-value added activity and takes away from profits. We never rely on customer inspection to insure the quality of our products.

Instead, we develop manufacturing methods that are robust and insure consistency. Where possible, we incorporate "self checking fixturing” and functional gauging to insure that each part meets specifications. We periodically record measurement results and use statistical process control procedures to evaluate critical processes. Although our quality system is not yet certified to ISO-9000 standards, we are actively working toward that goal and are already compliant in many areas.

4 - Be efficient

All manufacturers struggle with efficiency. We struggle with this as well. In today's environment of scarce technical skills and resources, many companies will divert their engineering resources to other, more pressing activities once a project reaches a point where the goals of the three previous priorities are met.

We, on the other hand, have fostered a philosophy of continuous improvement throughout the company. All of our employees are encouraged to identify areas where we can make measurable improvements to the efficiency, reliability, and consistency of our efforts. As a testament to the success of this philosophy, most of our best ideas for improvements have been suggested and implemented by non-management employees.

5 - Treat our customers fairly

We believe that the direct measure of how well we deliver our commitment to quality is how well we meet the expectations of our customers. We are committed to identifying, then meeting our customer's expectations regarding:

  • Specifications
  • Delivery
  • Value
  • Craftsmanship

We commit to empowering each of our employees to halt any production activity, without repercussions, to insure that the mandates described above are met.

We commit to reducing costs through continuous process improvement within all of our activities, wherever they may be, on the shop floor or in the administration offices.

We commit to providing excellent customer service - before, during and after each sale. We wish to eliminate your risk of starting a business relationship with us. We understand that our work must meet your specifications to be acceptable. We also understand that, many times, there are other intangible aspects of doing business with one other that can be barriers to productivity and efficiency.

We stand behind our products and services with the industry's most powerful guarantee: In the unlikely event that you are ever unhappy with our work because of quality, workmanship, or performance issues on otherwise acceptable product, just reduce the payment amount of our invoice to what you think is fair, and send that payment to us on time, with a note of explanation.

It is just that simple. We believe that this guarantee shows that we will stand behind our work and earn the right be a partner with your business.

6 - Make a profit

We believe that if the previous items are taken care of, then this priority becomes vastly easier to attain. We do not exist for the purposes of simply providing income to our employees or the government. Although we love our work, we are not a charity. We are a profit driven company and, once the previously stated priorities are met, decisions related to what projects we accept and who we choose to do business with made based on long term profitability.

7 - Be a good corporate citizen

We endeavor do our very best to treat our greatest asset, our employees, their families, and our community with respect and understanding. The company and our employees participate in, and contribute time and financing to several local and national organizations. We are proud to be an American and we encourage our employees to participate and vote in all local, state, and national elections.

This is what we believe in. How can we help you?
